Jeff Clark's Top Mining Stock Picks

With Jeff Clark

Summary

Jeff Clark argues that gold and gold equities are poised for a renewed uptrend despite rising Treasury yields, a strong dollar and sticky inflation, pointing to gold's annual gains since late 2021, continued net central bank buying led by China, and record global gold ETF inflows as evidence of institutional accumulation. He notes that mining equities are at record-cheap valuations relative to NAV, that the HUI-to-gold ratio sits near 2020 levels, and that mining makes up only about 2% of global equities, so a small reallocation from bonds or institutions could move the sector sharply. He also draws a 93% correlation with the 1976-1980 gold bull market, presenting the implied move toward roughly $10,000 gold as a comparison rather than a forecast. The episode then moves through a series of junior picks, all framed as bullish: Bullfrog Gold, Sankamap Metals, Ara Metals, Rio Metals, Cascadia Minerals, Getty Copper, Rackla Metals, Sun Peak Metals, Pacifica Silver, A2Gold, Banyan Gold, Mackay Gold & Silver, Newcore Gold and Grand Portage. Each is justified by drill results, jurisdictional improvements, or buyout potential, and Clark says he owns or is adding to most of them.

Key takeaways

  • Jeff Clark (bullish on Bullfrog Gold): Bullfrog Gold is a buy: Nevada land between majors' deposits, likely buyout if drilling hits.
  • Jeff Clark (bullish on Getty Copper): Getty Copper is a buy; its BC project beside Highland Valley could draw a buyout on strong drilling.
  • Jeff Clark (bullish on Pacifica Silver): Pacifica Silver is a buy: Mexican silver-gold target with strong team and news ahead.
  • Jeff Clark (bullish on A2Gold): A2Gold is a buy; its Nevada deposit could grow to 2-3 million ounces, attracting majors.
  • Jeff Clark (bullish on Banyan Gold): Banyan Gold is a top buyout candidate: 8.6 million ounces in Yukon, next to Hecla.

Bullfrog Gold

  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.comBullish

Bullfrog Gold is a buy: Nevada land between majors' deposits, likely buyout if drilling hits.

Bullfrog Gold owns the donut-hole land between deposits held by Ken Ross and Ango Gaurashanti in Nevada, and its project is surrounded by majors. The first drill program is starting imminently, with assays expected before year end. If the drilling hits, he expects a buyout because either Ken Ross or Ango would want the property. He is personally holding the stock overweight and invested in a private placement.

“I am personally own this stock. I'm overweight. I invested in a private placement... Because I think the odds are good. This is highly prospective property, and they probably will be bought out if they hit.”at 24:06

Sankamap Metals

  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.comBullish

Sankamap Metals is a buy: Solomon Islands copper-gold land on a giant-deposit trend, assays imminent.

Sankamap holds two prospective copper-gold properties in the Solomon Islands, a jurisdiction rated poorly for political risk in the Fraser survey. However, the properties sit on the same trend as two giant deposits, including Panguna, a classic porphyry system and one of the world's large gold operations with over 71 million ounces of resource. First assays are imminent. He likes CEO John Floreg, who started using AI at a prior company, and he owns the stock.

“They have two highly prospective copper gold properties in the Solomon Islands... they are on this the same trend as two giant deposits there... First assays are imminent... and of course I own it.”at 24:28

Ara Metals

  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.comBullish

Ara Metals is a buy as Ecuador has turned mining-friendly, though election risk remains.

Ara Metals is a gold-copper project in Ecuador, a country that used to be poorly rated and avoided. The government has become more mining-friendly and is currently positive and supportive. The next election could reverse this, and he would exit if he catches hints the government will turn against miners. He considers it a buy for himself right now and holds it.

“Ecuador did not used to be highly rated... The government has become more mining friendly. Now we don't know if they're gonna stay that way in the next election.”at 26:24

Rio Metals

  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.comBullish

Rio Metals is a buy after spectacular drill results and at least C$2 fair value vs lower price.

Rio Metals has reported spectacular drill results, including over 905 meters of 0.6% gold and 0.12% copper, almost a kilometer of mineralization, along with many other positive results. He puts fair value at least C$2, and the stock trades below that, so it is still a buy. Drilling continues and more results are expected, and he thinks the company will prove something up, even though it has a way to go. He owns the stock.

“[Rio] Metals has reported some spectacular drill results. The last one there you can see over nine zero five meters of 0.6% gold, 0.12% copper... The stock, if you put it at fair value, is at least $2 Canadian.”at 26:47

Cascadia Minerals

  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.comBullish

Cascadia Minerals is a buy; untested deeper sulfides could drive a significant rerating.

Cascadia is a copper-gold explorer in the Yukon with an existing resource, but historical drilling left much of the deeper, higher-grade sulfide mineralization untested. That is what Cascadia is now testing, and it has had positive drill results already. If success continues, he expects a significant rerating. He says it is a buy for him now and the team owns it.

“the historical drilling left much of the deeper higher grade sulfide stuff untested... If they continue to be successful, we do think this stock is gonna get a significant rerating.”at 28:10

Getty Copper

  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.comBullish

Getty Copper is a buy; its BC project beside Highland Valley could draw a buyout on strong drilling.

Getty's BC project sits right beside the Highland Valley copper mine, whose head grade is dropping. Highland may want Getty's ore to raise its mill grade. This is the first significant drill campaign in 30 years, with strong hits including 184 meters at 0.37% copper, 150 meters at 0.7% and 103 meters at 0.9%. He is overweight and has been buying, and he thinks the company probably gets bought out if it keeps succeeding.

“this is a strong candidate for me. I'm overweight this stock, we've been buying it, I think it probably gets bought out if they continue to show success.”at 29:39

Rackla Metals

  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.comBullish

Rackla Metals is a buy; first drilling in 44 years on high-grade tungsten could spark a rerating.

Rackla is drilling a high-grade tungsten project for the first time in 44 years. A prior company drilled it while looking for gold, declared a resource, and only later realized it was tungsten. The current work aims to confirm and expand that historical resource, which he thinks will spark a rerating. The stock is down, which gives an excellent entry point, and he has bought a first tranche and is bidding for a second.

“We're buying this now, I just bought my first tranche, I'm bidding right now a state bid for a second tranche, so this is a good buy for us right now.”at 30:36

Sun Peak Metals

  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.comBullish

Sun Peak Metals is a buy; early mover in pro-mining Saudi Arabia with discoveries and drilling underway.

Sun Peak is a gold-copper explorer with prime ground in one of the world's most underexplored but geologically proven mineral belts in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia has become very pro-mining and supportive of foreign miners over the past few years. Sun Peak is an early mover with several projects, has already made a discovery, and is drilling multiple projects with assay results to come. He bought after recommending it and is overweight.

“I like this, we bought it after we recommended it, and I'm overweight this stock.”at 31:43

Pacifica Silver

  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.comBullish

Pacifica Silver is a buy: Mexican silver-gold target with strong team and news ahead.

Pacifica is a silver explorer in Mexico near Durango with a legitimate shot to outline a significant silver-gold resource. He visited the property this year and sees how prospective and large it is, and all the analysts who covered it recommended the stock. It has an all-star management team and board, and investors include First Majestic, Silvercorp, Vizsla and Eric Sprott. It was one of his biggest investments in 2025, and the recent silver weakness has made it a great entry point.

“This was one of my biggest investments in 2025 last year, so I'm definitely holding on. The stock is down given the recent weakness in silver. Great entry point.”at 32:48

A2Gold

  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.comBullish

A2Gold is a buy; its Nevada deposit could grow to 2-3 million ounces, attracting majors.

A2Gold is one of the few juniors in Nevada with a legitimate shot at proving up a multi-million-ounce gold deposit, and it already has a resource. He believes the next resource could be two or maybe 3 million ounces, which would catch the market off guard and make it attractive to majors. The team has made numerous discoveries, and Ken Ross and Eric Sprott have invested. The stock has fallen to one- or two-year lows in the gold sell-off, a strong entry point, and he is overweight.

“This is one of the few juniors working in Nevada with a legitimate shot to prove up a multi million ounce gold deposit... we believe that the next resource could be two or maybe even 3,000,000 ounces”at 34:25

Banyan Gold

Across the shows: 1 speaker in other episodes, 1 bullish and 0 bearish calls, past 30 days

  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.comBullish

Banyan Gold is a top buyout candidate: 8.6 million ounces in Yukon, next to Hecla.

Banyan already has 8.6 million ounces of gold in the Yukon, right next door to Hecla. It has infrastructure, permitting and a mining engineer running everything, and drilling is continuing. He considers it a top buyout candidate and a strong reason to own it. The stock has run over the past year, so he would watch for a dip to buy.

“In my opinion, Banyan is a top buyout candidate, so I think this is a strong reason to own it.”at 35:55

Mackay Gold & Silver

  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.comBullish

Mackay Gold & Silver is a buy after consolidating a legendary Nevada district with two drill programs.

Mackay owns a legendary Nevada gold-silver district and has consolidated projects that previously had multiple owners into a single company. That consolidation makes the property much more attractive. Two drill programs are running now, giving it two shots on goal, and the board and investors are strong. He holds it as an overweight position.

“They own a legendary Nevada Gold Silver district. They've consolidated all of these projects and properties that had multiple owners into their company.”at 36:19

Newcore Gold

  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.comBullish

Newcore Gold is a buy: undervalued vs NAV in top-ranked Ghana and likely a future buyout.

Newcore is a gold explorer and developer in Ghana, consistently ranked the top pro-mining jurisdiction in Africa. Ghana's new royalty would add about $150 to all-in sustaining cost if Newcore went into production now, which is not a deal killer. A large drill program continues with consistently positive results, and the stock is undervalued against NAV on its current footprint, with more upside coming. A PEA is coming, and he expects a producer to buy it eventually, though not next week.

“The stock is undervalued if you look at the NAV based on its current footprint, and yet there's more upside to that footprint coming... In my opinion, this stock will be bought out sooner or later.”at 38:12

Grand Portage Resources

  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.comBullish

Grand Portage's Alaska project is worth near $1B at $4,000 gold, yet its market cap is $55M.

Grand Portage is developing the Herbert Gold Project in Alaska, which was accepted into the US fast-track program as a covered project. It has an indicated resource of 1.4 million ounces, with strong grade and another 500,000 ounces inferred. The recent PEA shows an after-tax NPV of $721 million at $3,200 gold, close to or at $1 billion at $4,000 gold, yet the market cap is about $55 million. He expects that disconnect to close, and he owns the stock.

“The recent PEA... had an after tax NPV, net present value, of $721,000,000 at 3,200 gold dollar gold. If you put that at $4,000 gold, you're looking at, close to or at a billion dollar project. And yet the current market cap... is just 55,000,000.”at 39:59

Gold & precious metals

  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.com

Gold is primed to resume an uptrend; rising with yields since 2022 signals institutional buying.

Despite a 10-year yield that hit 5.35%, a 2% monthly dollar gain, 3.4% CPI and an 85% chance of another Fed hike, gold has risen with yields on an annual basis since the end of 2021, unlike 2021 when gold fell. He reads this divergence as evidence that big investors and institutions are positive on gold and buying, so gold and gold stocks are set to resume an uptrend. He also notes gold relative to the Nasdaq is near all-time lows, so gold has not really broken out yet.

“Number one, gold has been rising with yields since 2022... the gold price is rising with yields. That shows that gold is very strong and that investors, especially big investors and institutions... are very positive on the gold price and they're buying.”at 5:13
  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.com

Central banks and China keep buying gold; 2026 set to top 2025 net purchases.

Central banks are still buying gold on a net basis. Monthly purchases rose about 70% from the prior month and were double a year earlier, and year-to-date net purchases are on track to exceed 2025. A World Gold Council survey shows more central banks planning to increase reserves than in prior years, with 2026 expected to be higher than 2025. China has bought gold for 23 consecutive months and its buying accelerated in the latest quarter. He sees this as a push to diversify out of the US dollar, and banks are getting good value at the lower gold price.

“Number two, central banks are still buying gold on a net basis. We're gonna have another banner year here by the end of the year... China has now bought gold for twenty three consecutive months.”at 5:57
  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.com

Record Q3 global gold ETF inflows, driven by institutional buyers, show strong gold demand.

Q3 data show the largest quarterly inflow into global gold ETFs on record, not just US or Canadian funds. Gold ETFs draw a mix of institutional, big and retail investors, unlike silver ETFs which are mostly retail, so the inflows show more institutional participation. He says this, together with central bank buying, shows big money positioning for gold while mainstream headlines are negative.

“last quarter was the largest quarterly inflow into global ETFs, not just US or Canada, on record... It's the highest ever quarterly gold inflows into ETFs. That's very significant.”at 9:20
  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.com

Gold is tracking the 1976-80 bull market; could double to $10,000 within a year or so.

Since the bull market began in early 2024, gold's price path has a correlation of almost 93% with the 1976-1980 gold bull market. If the pattern keeps matching, gold would first flatten and then break out, and to match the prior bull market the gold price from its current level would have to more than double, to about $10,000, within a year to a year and a half. He explicitly says he is not predicting this outcome, only pointing out the close alignment and its implications for gold stocks.

“We're at almost 93% match to what happened in that bull market... If we continue to match that, the gold price from its current level would have to more than double. I mean we're talking $10,000 gold... Now I'm not saying that's what's gonna happen.”at 11:17
  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.com

Mining stocks are the cheapest in fifty years, with record free cash flow yields; deeply undervalued.

Analyst estimates for mining companies for 2026, 2027 and 2028 are the cheapest on record relative to NAV, and their projected free cash flow yields are the highest since this has been measured. The HUI gold-stock index relative to gold is no higher than in 2020, and lower than in 2016, 2011, 2003 and far below 1979-80. He concludes mining equities are extremely cheap relative to gold, which he sees as an opportunity.

“Add all this up and you have mining stocks that are the cheapest in fifty years... They're deeply undervalued and yet their free cash flow yield is the highest in history.”at 12:27
  • Jeff Clark · TheGoldAdvisor.com

Mining equities are 2% of global equities, so modest inflows from bond investors would move the sector.

Mining equities are just 2% of global equities, the smallest level in 55 years, and the mining industry's roughly $400 billion market cap is tiny against $17 trillion of global cash and a $127 trillion bond market. Because bonds have not protected investors and the 60/40 portfolio has underperformed since COVID, he thinks some bond or institutional investors will shift a small portion of assets into mining, which would dramatically move the sector. He says he thinks that is going to happen.

“Mining equities are just 2% of global equities... So just a small portion of the cash that's on the sidelines coming into the mining industry would dramatically impact our sector.”at 15:41
