J&J has a fantastic CEO and more good news ahead; he says to own the stock.
Cramer calls CEO Duato a fantastic CEO and sees many more good things on the horizon. He points to the planned exit of the commodity synthetic joint (orthopedics) business, which he would not want to own at its low multiple. He concludes the stock is one to own.
“[Duato] is a fantastic CEO. I see many more good things on the horizon including when they get rid of the commodity base synthetic joint stuff that I don't want to own because I think it's too low multiple... Own the stock.”at 40:23

Johnson & Johnson is a buy for children's portfolios, with a AAA balance sheet that he calls nearly unique.
Asked for stock picks for children's investment accounts, Cramer says to buy tech and healthcare and names Johnson & Johnson. His only stated support is its AAA-rated balance sheet, which he says may be the only one of its kind. He gives no further evidence on its business or valuation.
“I think that you can buy a stock like Johnson and Johnson, triple a balance sheet, maybe the only one.”at 47:59

Jared Holz · Mizuho SecuritiesBullish
Johnson & Johnson's pharma business looks like one of the best in large-cap pharma despite device issues
Holz says J&J stock fell sharply the previous day because of problems in its medical devices business. He says its pharmaceutical business looks to be one of the best in large-cap pharma, and it is among the handful of names best positioned to deal with patent exposure. He rates AbbVie, Biogen and Vertex as the next tier, and says most major players have some patent issue, depending on whether it hits in 2027-2028 or closer to 2030.
“J and J, even though the stock was down a lot yesterday because of issues they're having in medical devices, that pharma business within J and J looks to be one of the best.”at 30:55

Jim Cramer · CNBCBullish
J&J's post-earnings selloff is overdone; its drug portfolio is among the best in the industry.
J&J beat on revenue and earnings and raised full-year sales and EPS guidance, but the stock fell nearly 6% after its report, having run up sharply before. Pharma drove the quarter: immunology grew strongly with Tremfya, oncology grew in the mid-teens, and neuroscience rose 17%. Medtech was a little light but drags only on about 35% of the business. The planned DePuy Synthes spin-off is sensible. The stock trades near 22 times the midpoint of guidance and about 20 times next year's estimates, yields 2.2%, and has a AAA credit rating. Cramer's charitable trust owns it, and he sees the December 8 investor day as a potential catalyst.
“I think this company is one of the best drug portfolios in the industry.”at 28:16

Tim Seymour · Seymour Asset ManagementBullish
J&J is a valuation opportunity; medtech pressure is outweighed by immunology and oncology upside.
Seymour sees a valuation story in a company with a lot of good news. Medtech is under pressure, but immunology and oncology offer significant upside. Remaining litigation and the talc overhang could be catalysts, and he thinks the market has not priced in their removal. The stock is up about 86% since June 2025 and pays a solid dividend, so the selloff is an opportunity.
“But a lot of upside from immunology and oncology more broadly. And I guess, to me, this is a valuation story in a company that's got a lot of great news in it.”at 28:47

Steve Grasso · Grasso Global Inc.Bullish
J&J has come through the patent cliff by replacing a lot of its lost drug revenue.
Grasso views J&J through the patent cliff lens. He says the company has come out the other side because it has replaced many of its drugs, which supports the company despite the day's weak medical device sales.
“J and J actually came out on the other side of the patent cliff. They've been able to replace a lot of their drugs.”at 29:26

Brian Belski · Humilis Investment StrategiesBullish
J&J's device and non-drug businesses have been very steady, the most consistent of big pharma.
Scott Wapner notes Belski owns J&J. Belski says the device business and the other non-drug side of J&J have been very steady. Of all the big pharma stocks, he argues J&J has been the most consistent, and it did not take much water after big pharma stocks were hit in 2025. He calls the reaction steady despite the stock being down almost 6% on the day.
“their device business and their other side of the business aside from drug has been very, very steady. And of all the big pharmas that you wanna throw it in there, that has been the most consistent”at 44:45
Sarat Sethi · Douglas C. Lane & AssociatesBullish
J&J's post-earnings selloff overstates the problem; the stock looks cheap again and remains a great company.
The stock fell on weakness in its med-tech unit, which Stryker and Boston Scientific had also flagged, and an overhang from the planned sale of its orthopedics division. Sethi argues the selloff is overdone. Guidance was raised above the start-of-year target, the pharma division is doing well, and the stock is still up 18% for the year. He says the valuation has reset to about 20 times earnings, down from the 15-16 range where he first got interested, and the company has a AAA balance sheet. He attributes the med-tech slowdown to consumers and hospitals in Asia, Europe and China pulling back on non-essential procedures amid Middle East tensions and high oil prices, which he sees as a manageable issue rather than a fundamental break.
“I think it got baked in. It's 20 times earnings. It used to be trading at 15, 16. That's when we got interested. I think it's still a great company. It's a AAA balance sheet”at 41:00

Jim Cramer · CNBCBullish
J&J is a top company with 18 blockbuster-pipeline drugs; buy it after the earnings-driven selloff.
Cramer calls J&J a top 20 US company, though he says the stock is a terrible trader around earnings. It jumps on the release, then slides through the call before buying returns. He says the company has 18 potential blockbuster drugs in the pipeline across its cardio and oncology franchises. Because of that pipeline, he says investors should buy when the stock is crushed after the numbers. The Giant position in the Charitable Trust has been held for ages.
“J and J needs to be bought when the stock gets crushed. You need to be nimble.”at 5:48
